During the school year some of the inner city schools provide a lunch to needy students. These students are provided a lunch by the Saskatoon and District Labour Council Summer Snack Program during the school's summer break. These lunches are at noon, Monday to Friday, in Pleasant Hill, Westmount and Optimist parks.

The Saskatoon and District Labour Council and Saskatoon's United Way Community Service Award recipient for the year 2007 was Jim Bitinsky. Jim was presented the award at a supper Friday evening, February 09th, 2007.

The Saskatoon and District Labour Council celebrated Labour Day 2005 by hosting a barbeque in Saskatoon.
